CHIA BUN WENG M’SHIP No : C10 DATE JOINED : 6 th July 2001 No. of YEARS : 22 HIGHLIGHTS : Committee Member 2007 – Present : Tennis Section Chairman We are very blessed that Mr Chia was elected to the committee in 2007 and he has been an active Chairman to the Tennis section since he took over the chairmanship of the section. We have managed to bring in big sponsors every year to sponsor major tournaments for our members in addition to his very own BWC Tournament for both Tennis and Squash Sections. Under his watch, the section has International Connections across borders and they regularly travel overseas especially to Thailand for interclub games many under his own sponsorship at times. He is also the Karaoke Chairman although he rarely sings. Guess he enjoys seeing the bodies move rather than his own. The section is very active with inter club competitions especially the ‘Five Inter- Clubs Karaoke Championship’ and the ‘PK Challenge’ with several affiliated clubs. So it is with great Honour that we present this Citation Award to Mr Chia Bun Weng for his dedication and services to The New Club of Taiping
