Tonight, we proudly honour Mr. Ng Eng Khim (N147), whose unwavering dedication, enthusiasm and volunteer spirit have enriched the social and cultural life of The New Club, Taiping for more than two decades. Mr. Ng has been a loyal member of our Club since 16th June 2000. For over twenty-six years, he has exemplified the true spirit of volunteerism by dedicating his time and talents to one of the Club's most vibrant sections—our Karaoke Section. As an active committee member of the Karaoke Section, Mr. Ng has played an instrumental role in organising numerous in-house singing competitions, bringing members together through fellowship, entertainment and healthy competition. His tireless efforts behind the scenes have contributed immensely to the success and popularity of the section. Beyond organising events, Mr. Ng has also proudly represented The New Club in many karaoke competitions outside the Club. Through his participation, he has served as an excellent ambassador, showcasing not only his vocal talent but also the camaraderie and sporting spirit that define our Club. His achievements speak for themselves. Under his leadership and dedication, he emerged as The New Club Karaoke Champion on three separate occasions—in 2012, 2014, and 2018. Winning the Club Championship once is an accomplishment; winning it three times reflects exceptional talent, perseverance and consistency. However, Mr. Ng's greatest contribution is not measured by trophies alone. It is reflected in the friendships he has nurtured, the enthusiasm he has inspired, and the countless hours he has willingly devoted to ensuring that fellow members enjoy the activities he loves. His commitment reminds us that every successful Club depends not only on administrators but also on passionate members who willingly contribute their time to enrich the experience of others.
