Citation in Honour of Mdm. Sally Chan (C28), Mdm. Nyana Morisson
(M177) and Mdm. Doreen Quah represented by Mdm Anna Lee (Q8)
It is my great honour and privilege to present The New Club Citation Award 2018 to three
exceptional ladies whose unwavering dedication, selfless service and remarkable teamwork
have enriched the life of The New Club for many years.
Today, we honour Mdm. Sally Chan (C28), a member since 14th November 1985, Mdm.
Nyana Morisson (M177), a member since 6th April 2001, and Mdm. Doreen Quah (Q8),
member since 5th December 1983. While each has made her own unique contribution to the Club, together they have become a
formidable team whose commitment and enthusiasm have played an indispensable role in the
success of countless Club festivities and major events.
Whenever The New Club celebrates an important occasion, members can always count on
these three dedicated ladies to step forward without hesitation. Whether it is a festive
celebration, family day, dinner, charity event or any major Club function, they are always
among the first to volunteer their time, energy and talents to ensure that every event is well
organised and memorable.
Behind every successful event lies months of planning, careful coordination and countless
hours of hard work—much of which often goes unnoticed. Yet these ladies have never sought
recognition. They have quietly worked behind the scenes, taking on responsibilities both
great and small, driven only by their desire to serve the Club and its members.
What makes their partnership truly exceptional is the spirit of collaboration they have
nurtured over the years. Their mutual understanding, respect for one another and ability to
work seamlessly as a team have become the foundation of their success. They complement
one another's strengths, overcome challenges together and consistently deliver events that
members look forward to and enjoy.
Perhaps even more admirable is their resourcefulness. Faced with limited budgets for various
events, they have never allowed financial constraints to diminish the quality of their
programmes. Instead of seeking additional subsidies from the Club, they have willingly
approached fellow members, friends and members of the public for sponsorships and
donations. Their initiative, perseverance and credibility have enabled them to secure generous
support, ensuring that Club events continue to flourish while exercising prudent financial
management.
Their willingness to go the extra mile reflects not only their commitment to the success of
every event, but also their genuine concern for the Club's long-term interests. Their efforts
have undoubtedly helped ease the Club's financial burden while maintaining the high
standard of activities that our members have come to appreciate.
Beyond their outstanding contributions to organising Club events, each of them has also
devoted time and effort to other sections of The New Club. Whether participating in Line
Dancing, Tennis, Library or Swimming activities, they continue to support the Club's
sporting, recreational and social programmes with the same passion and enthusiasm that have
become their hallmark.
Their dedication reminds us that a great club is built not merely by its facilities or buildings,
but by members who willingly give of themselves for the benefit of others.
Through their countless hours of voluntary service, they have strengthened friendships, fostered fellowship
and created cherished memories for generations of members.
Ladies and Gentlemen, today we pay tribute to three remarkable ladies whose generosity,
commitment and teamwork have become an inspiration to us all. Their service exemplifies
the very values upon which The New Club was founded—volunteerism, friendship and an
unwavering commitment to community.
It is therefore with immense pride and heartfelt appreciation that we confer The New Club
Citation Award upon Mdm. Sally Chan, Mdm. Nyana Morisson and Mdm. Doreen
Quah, in recognition of their outstanding and selfless contributions to the progress and
success of The New Club.
Ladies and Gentlemen, please join me in extending our warmest congratulations and deepest
appreciation to these three most deserving recipients.
