The New Club Taiping line dance section has grown in numbers. Latest count 70 plus. It has gained popularity amongst the club ladies and recognition from other more experienced group through the tutelage of Mr Kenny Teh. The dedication of section members Ah Poh and Vivian Lee to revise with the ladies every Tuesday and Friday mornings is very much appreciated.
Miranda Teoh teaches the beginners’ class every Wednesday night. Members from this group are encouraged to join the revision classes.
Therefore it is of no surprise that this section gets invited to events that is organized in town and out of town. On 13/5/16, a group of our ladies proudly represented the club at the Malacca rainbow Line Dance 17th Anniversary. The ladies in purple and white skirts stood out amongst the rest as they swayed and boogied to the music.
It was definitely a fun and memorable trip as they also had the opportunity to do sightseeing in this historical heritage town. It must have been an unforgettable experience to cruise down the Malacca river, savoring Nonya delights at Restoran Ole Sayang, visiting museums, riding on the colourful rickshaws and visiting Baba Charlie’s for his to die for Nonya cakes.
