The knowledge and mastery of life saving techniques are utmost importance. We believe that countless lives can be saved by promoting a water safety culture, the application of life saving skills, the practical and functional use of life saving devices and equipments and CPR.
The New Club, Taiping encourages every qualified member to participate in advocating water safety and life saving training. Over the past few years, Life Saving Training is continuously carried out by our dedicated Sub Committee mebers.
Life Saving Training Course (for competent swimmers) was done at The New Club, Taiping swimming pool on 15th and 19th of June 2016. Headed by Mr. Lee Soon Keong, President of Perak Life Saving society and Mr. Alex Ooi, Taiping representative of Life Saving society.
ILS and Bronze medallion course was strictly followed with all training equipment available. The practical examination of the course (life saving and CPR) was done on 5th and the theory examination was on 19th of June.
Background of candidates
All ILS candidates who sat for this examination had the required prerequisites-All candidates are young, fit and proficient swimmers. The 4 ILS candidates had already passed the Bronze Medallion.
