Chinese New Year Squash Competition, 20th – 22nd Feb. 2017

The Squash Section held its Chinese New Year Competition from 20 – 22 February 2017.    The players were divided into two teams – The Dragons and The Roosters.   Chan Kam Hoong captained the Dragons while Gooi Boon Chong led the Rooster into the battle of the Chinese Zodiac animals. The battle lasted three days and it came to a conclusion when the Roosters edged the Dragons 13 – 11.

A fellowship night followed where the Dragons and the Roosters became best of friends.  There was all round merriment and everyone was in high spirit.  The ladies lighted up the night with their CNY costumes.  There was plenty of food and drinks too.   Prizes for all the participants were delivered by our club president.

As the night moved on, a surprise announcement was made, that, It was the birthday of our club president.    Birthday songs were sang, cake was cut and candles were blown.   We wish our president many happy returns.   Together with his loving wife, the president stayed on to enjoy the evening with all of us.   Like he said in this speech, “This is what clubbing is all about.”
