Children’s Poetry Recitation Contest 2017, 08th October 2017

A New Club Children’s Poetry Recitation Contest was successfully carried out on 8th October 2017. The total number of children who took part was 17. The children were divided into 4 categories i.e Group A – nursery up to standard 3, Group B – standard 4 to standard 6, Group C – form 1 to form 3 and Group D – form 4 to form 5. There were 8 participants in Group A, 6 in Group B, 2 in Group C and 1 in Group D. The participants were given a goodie bag each. The panel of judges comprised Mr. Christopher Pressling (chief), Mr. Ho Kong Foo and Mr. Mahendran a/l Markandu. Many parents turned up to lend support to their children taking part. However, Group C and Group D did not contest because of the lack of quorum (a minimum of 5). The winners for Group A were 1st place – J. Rabindranath (6 years old), 1st runner up – Vishal Jayabalan ( 9 years old ) and 2nd runner up – J.Tharsana (9 years old). For Group B, 1st place was won by Vindhya ( 11 years old ), 1st runner up – Ruhan ( 12 years old) and 2nd runner up – Tai Xi Yue (11 years old). Group C and Group D participants were given a medal of participation each. Mr. Goh Chee Aik gave away the prizes.
