Ipoh Swimming Club, Swimming Gala Competition 2018,08th July 2018
This event organised by the Bulletin and Library was held in the main hall of The New Club Taiping in the morning of 8th July 2018. 22 club members’ children took part. The children were divided into 2 categories, Group A (14 participants) – Nursery to Standard 3 and Group B (8 participants) – Standard 4 to Standard 6. There on hand to assist in the running of the event were Mr. Goh Chee Aik, Mr. Wong Ah Woh, Mr. Teh Beng Soon, Ms. Suzanne McKinney, Ms. Sumithra Amalourde, Mr. Chan Sooi Sam and Ms. Sharimala Gunasargan. The programme started off with a short briefing at 9.00 a.m. The contest proper started at 9.10 a.m. and ended at 11.10 a.m. Mr. Calvin Peh Kim Hock had earlier prepared the template for the participants to colour and the medium was either crayons or colour pencils. The theme was Traditional Games.
The panel of judges comprised 1. Mr. Yeoh Hoe Thiam 2. Mrs Yeoh Hoe Thiam and 3. Mr. Paul Recher. The decisions of the judges were final and the following are the results of the contest.
Group A: 1st place – Karan Hans Raj (R70
1st runner up – Soo Kai Xuan (S222
2nd runner up – Yeong Wan Ying (S233)
Group B:
1st place – Tan Kai En (T317)
1st runner up – Soo Kai Ming (S222)
2nd runner up – Ow Kheng Hwang (O173)
The Bulletin And Library would also like to thank Mr. Lim Kok Boon who graciously sponsored the Pop drinks for the children’s refreshment. The children were also treated to some light breakfast.
A colouring kit, courtesy of Faber And Castell, was given to each and every contestant as a token of their participation. The event was successfully carried out.
