NAME : MR. K. SUBRAMANIAM
M’SHIP No : S128
DATE JOINED : 29th October 1999
No. of YEARS : 24
HIGHLIGHTS : Golf Captain 2011 – 2016
: Hon. Secretary 2016 – Present

Mr. K Subramaniam was first elected to the General Committee as the Golf Captain in the year 2011. He served for 5 terms and brought the Golf Section to greater heights despite the fact that we do not have a golf course. Various tournaments were still being carried out under his watch and he strived to make sure that our Golf Section remained relevant and active with lots of interclub games as well as in our Monthly Tournaments. We travelled far and wide to enjoy the game greatly due to his diligence in making sure we kept up with the game.

In 2016, we managed to convince him to upgrade himself to take up the position of the Hononary Secretary.

Now with him in the positions for the last 7 years, we must honestly say that many things have been restructured and streamlined in the running of the Club’s affairs.

He introduced many procedures and made sure we followed them to the book given his background as a lawyer. Sure, he made many enemies along the way but he had firm in making sure each and everyone of us followed the rules and regulations to the letter with no favour to anyone.

Even if I as the President were to break any rules, I am sure he would send me a letter too…hahahaha

With the recent need to look at the rules and constitution of the club some of which dates back to 1885, Mr. Subra was at the forefront of looking at each and every line in the rules and his experience as a renowned lawyer, guided us through many nights of discussions over a few months and finally we were able to come up with the new Constitution which we have sent for approval to Registrar of Society.

As such, we would like to honour Mr. K Subramaniam for his years of dedication to the club and for his service that has been beyond compare which I am sure all of you here would rightly agree with me. He has left his legacy in the club for us and the future members in years to come.
