A Children’s Colouring Contest

A Children’s Colouring Contest was organized by the Bulletin And Library Section for the club members’ children. The rationale of organising this event is to promote a camaraderie atmosphere and also to mine the imagination and creativity of the children.
The event was held on 17th January 2016. A total of 36 children from the ages of 5 years old to 12 years old took part. The event started at 8.30 a.m. and ended with prize giving at 12.30 p.m. To add colour to the event, Popular Book Shop set up a stall promoting Faber-Castell products.
Ms. Sharon Kow Siew Suan, a reknowned pencil artist, graced the event by making a special appearance. She also gave a short talk on pencil art to inspire our budding artists.
The Bulletin And Library Committee members worked hard to make this event a success. The unsung hero is our club manager, Mr Barry Teoh, who literally and figuratively ran around to get things done.
The judges had a hard time deliberating on the winners. A word of thanks goes to our sponsors, Faber-Castell, Malaysia and Sin Boon Printing Sdn. Bhd. for helping us to make this event a success.
