Trip to Maxwell Hill
On a bright sunny day on Sunday, 4th December 2016, 20 members’ children were taken on a trip back to the past. The event was called a Blast From The Past. The participants were accompanied by their parents. They were introduced to 10 traditional games like flying a paper aeroplane into a basket, hop scotch, rolling a coconut, rope skipping, balancing stones, block stacking, shooting a target through a straw with a pea, marble game and “one, two, som” which is the equivalent of paper, stone and scissors and also shooting a target with a rubber band. Each participant was given a goodies bag. 5 prizes were given to the winners for each category. Even the parents asked to be given a chance to have hands on to try out the games. After the prize giving ceremony, the participants and their parents were given light refreshment. The event ended with a merry note and it was a great success.
