The Inaugural (The New Club vs Chinese Recreational Club, Taiping) PK Karaoke Competition

The Main Hall of the New Club reverberated with music and singing on 19th Aug. 2017 as the New Club took on CRC Taiping in the Inaugural TNC vs CRC PK Karaoke Competition.
The PK competition is a one to one knock-out competition. The first singer will be determined by drawing of lots by the committee. The contestant will then draw lots to determine his/her opponent for the first round. Subsequently, each singer will then draw lots to determine his/her opponent for each round.
There were 15 rounds altogether and the winner of each round won a prize.
There was also a cash prize for each of the members of the winning team if the team secured a minimum 8 winners.
Contestants, especially the ladies,were dressed to the nines, to vie for the Best Attire Award.
However, it was a man, Mr. Hwang Boon Leong, of the CRC, dressed in his cowboy outfit, who walked away with the prize.
Ms. Penny Loke of TNC won the Best Showmanship Award. New Club won the championship with an 8 – 7 scoreline.
Contestants and supporters lived up to the theme for the evening : Inter-club Fellowship Above All. They stayed focused and cheered their team on in a sporting manner.
There was fun and fellowship and as all could see everybody enjoyed the evening.
